60 year old grave marker found at a Port Huron residence

Port Huron Police have reunited a missing grave marker to relatives of an infant who died in 1960. The grave stone of Patricia Jane Whiford was discovered by a property owner in the 900 block of Court Street while they were clearing brush last week. It had been cut been cut into three equal pieces prior to its discovery and was turned over to police who began a search for Whitford’s relatives. According to the Port Huron Police Department, a family member was located and the grave marker will be turned over to them. Police say they appreciate the public’s assistance in helping to track down Whitford’s family.

Police are looking to reunite a found grave marker with the relatives of an infant that died in 1960. The Port Huron Police Department say a grave marker for Patricia Jane Whiford was discovered by a property owner in the 900 block of Court Street while they were clearing brush. It has since been turned over to the Port Huron Police Department where it is currently being stored in the department’s property lock up. The stone is dated June 17th to June 19th, 1960 and had been cut into three equal pieces. Police say they would like to give the marker to a living relative of Whitford and those who have any information can contact 987-6688.
