With winter almost upon us, hazardous road conditions are not far behind. Michigan during winter months can be challenging at times, especially if you are out on the roads before they're plowed. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon wants to make sure drivers stay safe this holiday season, and he has some tips to assist you. Sheriff Donnellon says to make sure to reduce your speed in the snow, sleet and rain. Check your tires and fluids before heading out on a trip. Stay off your cellphones and avoiding texting, or you will get a ticket. And as always, where your seat-belts. Sheriff Donnellon notes that last year Michigan had over 800 fatal accidents. The Sheriff also says to pull off the road if you are tired or if road conditions are worsening. And if your car breaks, down never venture more than 100 feet away from the vehicle.
