The multi-hull yacht Arete, owned by Rick Warner of Marine City, and representing Port Huron Yacht Club, blazed to Mackinac Island in 21 hours, 44 minutes, and 58 seconds, finishing at 11:15 AM Sunday.  It is the second year in a row that Arete has been the first boat to complete the Belle’s Beer Bayview Mackinac race, beating its time from last year by just under an hour and 28 minutes.  As fast as Arete was, it did not set a race record.  During the 2013 race, the first three finishers did the course in under 21 hours, with Il Mostro needing only 19 hours, 11 minutes, and 31 seconds to finish.
