Prostitution and Human Trafficking Crackdown in Port Huron

According to the Port Huron Police Department and Marysville Police Department, the second phase of an investigation into a prostitution and human trafficking ring in the Blue Water Area has been completed. The investigation was handled by the Neighborhood Enforcement Team, a local, state and federal law enforcement agency collaboration which looks to keep criminal activity in check in Port Huron and Marysville. The team includes members of the Port Huron Police Department, Marysville Police Department, Michigan State Police, U.S. Customs and U.S. Border Patrol. According to the department, the operations of trafficking and prostitution were found to have been done on various websites that discretely offer escort services. Since the start of these investigation by the Neighborhood Enforcement Team, over thirty individuals have been arrested. Further crackdown on prostitution is set to take place.
