A late innings rally by the Detroit Tigers fell short on Friday in an 8-6 loss to the Yankees at Comerica Park. James McCann had two hits, including a home run, and knocked in three runs for the Tigers, while Jeimer Candelario also hit a home run. Game two of a three game series is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
