A local soup kitchen will be moving to a new building in Port Huron. Mid City Nutrition, who purchased property in the 800-block of Griswold Street, started demolition work this week. Director Dawn Jackson says two buildings on the property will be torn down with a new one being built in their place. Jackson says the new building will have additional kitchen space to serve the needs of those in the community. She also says it will help allow Mid City teach how to prepare and cook healthy meals at home. Currently, Mid City Nutrition is operating out of the basement of St. Martin’s Church, about three blocks away from their new property. Their new facility will be located at 830 Griswold Street, three blocks from their current location.
