Weekend Harley accident injures one

A motorcyclist was airlifted to an area hospital this weekend after an accident on M-53 near Cass City road Saturday afternoon. According to Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies, a 59 year old Royal Oak woman was traveling south on Van Dyke on a Harley Davidson when she made a U-turn in front of an oncoming car. The vehicle, a Buick Enclave driven by an Ortonville woman, struck the bike and the motorcyclist was ejected. The biker was treated on the scene by Marlette EMS and then airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw for treatment. The driver of the Enclave was not injured in the accident. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident and the driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
