Mikie Mahtook hit a two run home run in the 8th to lift the Detroit Tigers to a 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday at Comerica Park. Niko Goodrum had three hits and two RBI, while Nick Castellanos added three hits for the Tigers. Detroit’s Victor Martinez singled in his final at bat, then retired from baseball after a 16 year career in the Major Leagues. The Tigers wrap up a four game series with the Royals on Sunday, in what is the final home game of the season for Detroit.
