Marine City beat Detroit Denby 40-32 in double overtime on Friday to win the D5 regional and move on to the semi-finals of the State High School Football playoffs. The Mariners will play a neutral site game next week against either Frankenmuth or Portland. Those teams play on Saturday in Portland. In D2 the defending state champs, Warren De La Salle beat Port Huron Northern 21-3. The Huskies finish their season (10-2) tying the school record for wins. In D4 at Williamston, St. Clair lost to the host 28-0 to finish the season (9-3).
