Alcohol suspected in Forester Township crash

A Wednesday evening crash in Sanilac County’s Forester Township has hospitalized a Deckerville teen. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to an accident on Goetz Road near Deckerville Road shortly before 9pm Wednesday. The vehicle, driven by a 17 year old Deckerville male was northbound on Goetz when he lost control, entering a ditch, and rolling over multiple times. Authorities say the teen was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital where his recovering from injuries. The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department says Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
