Friday night marks week eight of the high school football season and five league championships are up for grabs. The MAC-Gold title will be desided at East China Stadium as rivals Marine City and St. Clair get together. Both teams are (7-0) on the season and (4-0) in league play. The Mariners have won nine straight League Championships, while the Saints last won a title in 1980, when they shared the SCAL crown with Marysville. The MAC-White championship once again comes down to a game between Port Huron High and Warren Mott. Last season the Big Reds won the title winning at Mott, while this season the teams will meet at Memorial Stadium. The BWAC is the most complex situation, but can be made easy if Richmond beats Yale. The Blue Devils all ready have clinched a share of the championship, but beating Yale makes them the outright winners. A Yale win creates a tie for the crown between the teams, and opens the door for a three way tie if Almont beats Imlay City. In the GTCE Harbor Beach is at Marlette in a winner take all show down and in the NTCL Deckerville can get a share of the title with a win over Peck. The Pirates all ready have a share of the top spot and win it outright by holding off the Eagles.
