Port Huron Northern's girls basketball season came to an end on Tuesday night with a 43-17 loss to Bloomfield Hills Marian at Lake Shore High School in the quarter finals of the playoffs. Riley Fealko led the Huskies with 8 points. Marine City Cardinal Mooney held off Clarkston Everest 43-36, however, to advance to Thursday's Class D semi-finals at the Breslin Center.
The boy's high school basketball regional playoffs began on Monday night. In Class B action at North Branch, Imlay City failed to hold a 14 point lead after three quarters and lost in overtime to Millington 76-65. The Spartans got 27 points from Anthony Howard in the loss. Millington will face Goodrich in the regional final on Wednesday night, after the Martians downed St.
The Detroit Pistons have lost three in a row after falling 118-111 in Boston on Sunday. Josh Smith had 28 points and Greg Monroe 22 for the Pistons, who also got 18 points and 22 rebounds from Andre Drummond. Detroit has just two wins in its last dozen games and returns home on Tuesday to play Sacramento.
