Petr Mrazek made 27 saves to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-0 pre-season shutout over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.  Nick Jensen, Riley Sheahan, and Tomas Jurco scored for the Wings.  Sheahan also had an assist.  The Red Wings face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night at the Joe in more pre-season action.
It took all 162 games of the regular season, but the Detroit Tigers clinched their fourth straight division title on Sunday with a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park.  Ian Kinsler had three hits, including a home run, and knocked in two runs for the Tigers.  David Price got the win pitching seven and a third innings and allowing just four hits while striking out
Matthew Stafford passed for 293 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for another score, to lead the Detroit Lions to a 24-17 win over the New York Jets in New York on Sunday.  Golden Tate caught eight passes for 116 yards for the Lions, who improved to (3-1) on the season.  The Lions return home next Sunday to host the Buffalo Bills.
