The Kansas City Royals avoided a three game sweep with a 5-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Ian Kinsler hit a home run for the Tigers, who lead the Central by a game and a half with seven games to play. The Tigers open a three game series with the Chicago White Sox on Monday night at Comerica Park.
The Lions defense stopped Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and scored the first nine points of the game for Detroit, in a 19-7 win. Donald Carey picked up a fumble and returned it 40 yards for the first Lions touchdown. The Detroit defense followed that with a safety. Reggie Bush also scored for the Lions on a 26 yard run. The Michigan Wolverines fell to (2-2) on the season, losing at home to Utah 26-10 on Saturday. Willie Henry scored on a seven yard interception return for the lone U of M touchdown in the game. Michigan opens Big Ten play next Saturday in Ann Arbor against Minnesota.
