ALCOHOL BELIEVED INVOLVED IN PAIR OF FATAL MISHAPS

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office reports on a couple of fatal traffic crashes from over the weekend.  The first occurred Saturday afternoon in Riley Township at Braidwood and Masters Roads.  A 36-year old man from Emmett Township failed to stop on Braidwood, with his vehicle hitting another along Masters.  He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle, with him pronounced dead at the scene.  There were four people in the other vehicle, with them taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The second incident happened Sunday afternoon in Mussey Township.  A 23-year-old Lapeer man riding a motorcycle was killed when he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a vehicle at the intersection of Downey and Capac roads.  The rider died at the scene, with officials saying the other vehicle was driven by a woman with her two children as passengers.  They were not injured.
