The Lapeer County Prosecutor's Office says Dustin Jenkins, a former Port Huron and Lapeer store owner, was arrested last week for allegedly robbing a bank at gunpoint and then using a stolen snowmobile as his getaway vehicle. The incident happened Thursday afternoon at the Lapeer County Bank and Trust branch, with the armed robber, dressed in a white painter suit and wearing a black ski mask, demanding cash from the tellers and then moving and locking them up. The suspect fled the scene on a snowmobile that was reported stolen in Davison earlier in the day and was tracked to Richfield Township and taken into custody. No one was injured during the incident. Jenkins was arraigned on several charges Friday, including armed robbery, bank robbery, unlawful imprisonment and unlawful driving away of an automobile. He's being held without bond at the Lapeer County Jail and is due back in court soon for a preliminary exam.
