Board of Education members in the Port Huron Area School District gave the green light Monday to a new budget for the next fiscal year.  The over 90-million dollar spending plan sees about a five-and-a-half million dollar shortfall but officials hope to make that up somewhat with further budget cuts.  Board President Jeff Stout indicates administrators will also be working with educators to try and adjust expenses.  A 10% wage cut was one of the suggestions made. The biggest change from the current budget, according to Stout, is federal programs that are no longer funded.  The new budget starts the first of the month.
