Thursday marks the first regular St. Clair County Commission meeting of the new year and one important change to note is the time of the meeting. It starts at 1pm. County Commission Chair Jeff Bohm says the unusual start time allows for board members to attend the Governor's State of the State address to be given that evening at the state capitol in Lansing. Bohm says the time spent with state elected officials is valuable and helps keep everyone connected. He says some of the top priorities for the board for 2014 are an update of the county's 9-1-1 service, increasing tipping fees at the Smiths Creek Landfill, and improvements for the St. Clair County International Airport. Tomorrow’s State of the State address will be broadcast live on WPHM AM 1380 beginning at 7:00 pm.
