Miguel Cabrera and Alex Avila each had three hits, Cabrera had a home run and three RBI, as the Detroit Tigers raced out to an 8-1 lead and then held on for an 8-6 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. The Tigers belted seven doubles among their 15 hits in the game. Ian Kinsler had two doubles, scored twice, and drove in two runs. Justin Verlander went seven and allowed two runs with seve strike outs. The Detroit bullpen struggled again. Game three of a four game series is Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
