Champions Crowned!

Five league titles were decided on Friday night in week eight of the high school football season.  At Memorial Stadium Warren Mott scored with about a minute to play in the game to eke out a 26-20 win over Port Huron High and remain unbeaten and claim the MAC-White championship.  The Big Reds were trying to defend their title from a year ago and led for most of the game.  At East China Stadium St. Clair got off to an early 22-0 lead and then held off Marine City 43-33 to win the MAC-Gold title.  The Saints beat the Mariners for only the third time in 30 years.  The win ended a seven game losing streak for St. Clair against Marine City and gave the Saints their first league title since 1980.  The Mariners had won or had a share of the Gold crown nine years in a row.  Richmond won the BWAC title out right with a 42-28 win over Yale.  Harbor Beach stomped on Marlette 56-7 to with the GTCE crown.  Peck beat Deckerville 46-8 in 8-man football to win the NTCL championship.
