A number of organizations have helped promote and in some cases revitalize downtown Port Huron over the past few years...and if City Manager Bruce Brown sees his vision to a conclusion some of those groups could start to work better together. In keeping individual boards and missions intact Brown believes some aspects of the Chamber, MainStreet, and others could be shared. Having three tourist related books by separate organizations or multiple websites talking about the same things are not always in the best interest he believes. He says other functions like office staff could be shared as well. The thoughts have been addressed by Brown and others at a series of downtown summits that were organized earlier this year. The Downtown Development Authority was updated on the item Tuesday and Brown promises to keep them informed on the ongoing discussions.
