Voters in some areas of the state and in the local area will be facing long and lengthy ballots Tusday thanks in part to six statewide ballot proposals.  Those issues, combined with local proposals and township, county, state and federal races, .... could make for a longer line at the precincts, according to Port Huron City Clerk Sue Child. She says the Michigan Voter Information Center, available online at mi.gov/sos, can help you determine where you will cast your ballot on Election Day.  You can also learn what's on the ballot and research the proposals, candidates and what's required in terms of voter identification.  Tomorrow  will see the polls open from 7am to 8pm here in Michigan. Further compounding the problems that came up this year for various governmental units is the over 65% increase in different ballots for St. Clair County....due primarily to the addition of school board candidates and issues that have been moved to the November ballot. There are a handful of write-in candidates too in this election including four each that have qualified for President and U.S. Senate. Local write-ins include a candidate for Port Huron’s Board of Education and three seeking various township seats in Brockway, Kimball, and Cottreville.
