Melissa McCarthy appears on the cover for Elle's Women in Hollywood issue -- and critics are slamming the magazine for covering up the full-figured actress's body. While her fellow cover models Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Marion Cotillard showed plenty of skin, Melissa sported an oversized coat. Elle responded to the backlash in a statement, saying, "On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover. We are thrilled to honor her as one of our Women in Hollywood this year."
Director Michael Bay faced down a pair of thugs in Hong Kong yesterday. Two brothers approached Bay on the set of the latest Transformers movie and demanded nearly $13,000 because the shoot was disrupting their street-vendor business. Bay says one of the men tried to "smack" his face, but he ducked and wrested the AC from him. The other brother then attacked three police officers who tried to intervene. The brothers were arrested on suspicion of blackmail and assault charges.Bay reportedly sustained minor injuries to the right side of his face, but declined to seek treatment. He resumed filming after the incident.
Miley Cyrus has bought a $400,000 car for her five dogs. A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Last week she bought a white Maserati and a red Porsche for herself. But she also splashed out $162,000 on a Range Rover Sport. The dogs are banned from her cars, but they basically own the Range Rover. They're free to jump around, leave their hairs over it, scratch it and have their blankets in there. Miley even joked that if she dies the Range Rover will go to them." Her canine companions could soon be upgrading to a different set of wheels, however, as the twerk-mad starlet is reportedly learning to ride a motorbike.
Ke$Ha's bizarre stage antics almost led to an emergency dash to the hospital during a recent show when she electrocuted herself with a power tool. Sparks fly when the singer grinds the custom-made metal chastity belt she wears on stage with a handheld band saw, and she almost went too far during one recent performance. She explained, "At this one show... I was doing that and all of a sudden I start getting electrocuted while I was grinding on my vagina and it was super scary and intense... I think everyone thought I was partying." However, she adds, "It's super dangerous... but it looks so cool and my fans are way into it.
