Entertainment News For Monday!

Brady Bunch star Ann B. Davis has died at the age of 88. The actress, best known for her role as lovable housekeeper Alice on the classic TV series, passed away yesterday at her home. A family friend says she suffered a severe head injury after slipping and hitting her head in the bathroom, and never regained consciousness. Davis starred in The Brady Bunch, and went on to reprise her role in a number of spin-offs. Davis also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.

Liam Payne has apologised on behalf of his One Direction bandmates after footage of them allegedly smoking marijuana leaked online. They have faced growing pressure to say sorry to their young fans, and finally over the weekend, Payne reached out to the group's fans around the world, insisting the band members are only young and will make mistakes as they grow up. He tweeted, "I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that. We are only in our 20s we all do stupid things at this age."

Oprah Winfrey lost her NBA bid to own the Los Angeles Clippers. Oprah made the bid by fax, as she’s currently busy working on a movie. When she lost the bid to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Oprah said she was ultimately relieved because she wasn’t sure how she was going to be able to attend owner meetings. She later joked, "I was doing it. You know, my lawyers were like, 'Do you even like basketball?' I said, Yes, I LOVE basketball! And this is gonna be so much fun!' ... I thought it would be entertaining."

During a speech earlier this week, actress Gwyneth Paltrow compared online bullying of celebrities to war, and the backlash has been fierce.  The comments angered pretty much all military supporters and veterans past and present, including Veterans for Peace. A rep for the organization told, "She doesn't understand what it means to be in real danger ... Not someone talking to you on the Internet, but actually having bullets shot at you. I've gone to war and had that kind of fear. She's not in a situation where she can compare the two. She hasn't had to fear for her life and not know whether she'd make it home."
