FILM FESTIVAL LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR

Members of the Port Huron Downtown Development Authority met in a regular session Tuesday giving approval for essentially a tax break to help with renovations of the old Ben's Furniture store building.  Captured taxes over 14 years would allow about 7-thousand dollars to be used at the Huron Avenue building which is to be converted into lofts.  A report was also given by Blue Water Film Festival's Jeremy Stemen who says the event went off well this year thanks in part to a grant given by the D.D.A. to help with the program. Stemen noted attendance numbers were down from last year due in part to other activities going on that weekend...not the least of which was a well attended Port Huron High and Northern football game and a nearby brew tasting event.  He says he hopes to have the event ready to go...bigger and better than ever...next year and in future years.
