FINE LINE BETWEEN VIRTUAL VENTING AND THREATENING

Kids, be careful of what you post on social media...  A Port Huron High School student, apparently venting his frustrations about school on Facebook this week, saw the matter investigated by Port Huron Police and school officials.  Sgt. Dave Seghi says a posting on the student's Facebook page, Tuesday night, was read by a citizen who called police with concerns about what it said. Seghi says investigations were conducted by police and school officials, with the parents and student contacted and interviewed.  He says the student didn't mean any harm and the post did not specify a threat against the school, students or teachers.  Seghi says the incident should serve as a lesson on the fine line between venting frustrations publicly and being perceived as a potential threat.
