Detroit Tigers slugger Prince Fielder won the All-Star Game Home Run Derby on Monday night in Kansas City. Fielder out homered Toronto's Jose Bautista in the finals 12-7. It is the second time he has won the event, having won it while playing for the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in his career. His 28 total home runs at this years event where the fifth highest total all time since Major League Baseball introduced the contest in 1985. Fielder was only the sixth player from Detroit to participate in a derby, joining his dad Cecil, who hit in three, as well as Damion Easley, Ivan Rodriguez, Brandon Inge, and Miguel Cabrera. Prior to Fielder, Rodriguez had hit the most home runs in the event by a Tigers' player with 20 at Comerica Park in 2005, when he finished second to Bobby Abreu of the Phillies.
