GAS PRICES UP ACROSS THE STATE

The price has gone up just over seven-cents a gallon, according to Triple A Michigan, with the statewide average now at $3.38 per gallon, which is 10-cents more per gallon than this same time last year.  The price increase comes as a bit of a surprise, with the auto club saying crude oil prices are in the $90-dollars per barrel range and overall less demand for fuel at this time of year.  Officials say the increase is not a trend they expect to continue.  Meanwhile, this week began with local pumps in the Blue Water Area asking about $3.39 a gallon, up about a dime a gallon from last week.
