The body of a woman from Canada was recovered early Friday morning after she apparently jumped, Thursday night, off of the Blue Water Bridge.  It was at least the third such case reported this year and happened about 10:00 p.m., last night.  The body was found in the Saint Clair River near the Port Huron and Marysville border.  She was identified as a 44-year-old Sarnia
The St. Clair County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is reminding residents that a special local outdoor siren test is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2nd.  The 12:30 p.m. test will replace the scheduled monthly test that would have happened on Monday September 1st, which is the Labor Day Holiday.  The local tests are conducted monthly to ensure that the
One suspect is dead and another is still at large, after an attempted robbery and fatal shooting outside a bank at 16-Mile and Gratiot. It happened Thursday afternoon, at a Bank of America branch in Macomb County's Clinton Township. F.B.I. and local authorities are continuing their investigations into the theft.
The Port Huron Planning Commission next week will take up a proposal about a student building to be used by those attending the Baker College of Port Huron culinary institute, with plans for it to be built along St. Clair Street.  Site plans have been submitted for approval and a public hearing on the item will be held during the Planning Commission's meeting on Tuesday.

The Detroit Tigers made four errors on Sunday in a 6-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox, in the final game of a four game series.  Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez had RBI for the Tigers, who open a four game series in Cleveland on Monday afternoon.
Kyle Ryan made his big league debut for the Tigers and pitched six scoreless innings in an 8-4 win by Detroit in the second game of a double header in Chicago on Saturday against the White Sox.  Ian Kinsler had three hits and knocked in three runs for the Tigers, who also got three hits from Don Kelly and Ezequiel Carrera.  The final game of a four game series is set for Sunday
Chris Sale struck out 13 and led the Chicago White Sox to a 6-3 win in the first game of a double header on Saturday.  Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez had home runs in the loss.  Max Scherzer suffered the loss despite striking out 11.
The Michigan Wolverines piled up over 500 yards of offense on their way to a 52-14 win over Appalachian State.  Devin Gardner was 13 of 14 for 173 yards and threw three TD passes, all to Devin Funchess.  Michigan plays at Notre Dame next week.

The Detroit Lions shutout the Buffalo Bills 23-0 on Thursday to close out the pre-season.  Kellen Moore was 17 of 28 for 172 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions, who open the regular season on September 8 against the New York Giants.
Bret Zihlavsky caught two touchdown passes and threw one, as Richmond opened the high school football season with a 47-0 win at Marysville on Thursday night.  Stefan Fenwick rushed for 112 yards, 95 on a fourth quarter touchdown run.  First year starter Trevor Barrett threw for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
