One person is dead and three others were injured in a two car crash Thursday afternoon in Cottrellville Township.  The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle driven by a 26 year old man from Hamtramck was traveling along Marsh Road shortly before 1:30 p.m.  The man lost control of his vehicle and was hit broadside by another vehicle driven by a 22 year old man from East
Kimball Township the scene Thursday for a ribbon cutting for the Lapeer Road project.  Kirk Weston at the St. Clair County Road Commission says the project is expected to be completed in November, but for the duration of the work the traffic will not be impeded.  The project will replace the waterline between Allen and Range Roads, with the Road Commission also resurfacing Lapeer
It was a very lucky Friday the 13th last month for a local woman who won $66-million dollars in the Mega Millions Jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.  Kelsey Zachow of Port Huron was revealed to be the winner in a press conference held yesterday in Sterling Heights.  Zachow purchased her tickets at a convenience store in Mount Clemens.  She says she bought five Mega Millions

Port Huron Police continue searching for the suspect in an armed robbery at the Spirit Shop from Monday night.  The robbery happened at 9:40 p.m. as the suspect entered the store along Gratiot, brandished a knife and demanded money.  The suspect took some cash and fled on foot.  No injuries were noted.  If anyone has information they can call the CAPTURE hotline at

The St. Clair County Road Commission is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony today for the Lapeer Road improvement project.  The Road Commission received nearly $3-million in special funding, and repairs will include resurfacing, sewer and drainage improvements.  The ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. today at the intersection of Lapeer and Jarvis Roads in Kimball Township.  The

An enormous loss... that's the view of some citizens as the death of Port Huron City Councilmember and former Mayor Brian Moeller was announced.  He passed away Tuesday at the age of 59.  Last year saw Moeller diagnosed with cancer, with him undergoing treatment and making an apparent recovery earlier this year, only to have the cancer return.  Tom Seppo of local ministry
Dave Dombrowski showed off his usual dead-line flair with a deal no one saw coming on Thursday afternoon, when the Detroit Tigers acquired star pitcher David Price from the Tampa Bay Rays in a three team five player deal.  In the trade the Tigers sent centerfielder Austin Jackson to Seattle, and pitcher Drew Smyly and infielder Willy Adames to the Rays.  The Rays also got infielder Nick
The Chicago White Sox took two out of three from the Tigers this week, after a 7-4 win in Detroit on Thursday afternoon.  Joakim Soria had another tough relief stint and took the loss.  Torii Hunter and JD Martinez hit home runs for the Tigers, who play Colorado on Friday at Comerica Park to open a three game inter-league series.

The Chicago White Sox broke open a tie game with seven runs in the seventh inning on Tuesday night, now their way to an 11-4 win over the Detroit Tigers.  Bryan Holaday drove in two runs for Detroit, while Victor Martinez picked up three hits.  The Tigers will try to snap a four game losing streak on Wednesday, when they rematch the Sox at Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers managed just three hits in their third straight loss to the Angels in Los Angeles on Sunday, by a score of 2-1.  The Tigers managed just seven hits in the last two games of the series and scored just two runs in the final three games of the series, all loses.  Monday is a day off for Detroit as they return home to face Chicago beginning Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers managed just four hits on Saturday night in a 4-0 loss to the Angels in Los Angeles.  Austin Jackson had two hits for the Tigers, who have scored just one run in their last 18 innings.  The final game of a four game series in California is set for Sunday afternoon.
Drew Smyly struck out eleven in six innings, but suffered a 2-1 loss on Friday night to the Los Angeles Angels in California.  The lone Detroit run scored on a solo home run from Miguel Cabrera.  The third game of a four game series is set for Saturday night.
Max Scherzer struck out 11 over seven innings as the Detroit Tigers beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-4 on Thursday night in the first game of a four game series in California.  Joe Nathan got his 21st save by striking out the side in the ninth.  Nick Castellanos had two hits and two RBI, while Ian Kinsler also knocked in two runs.  Game two of the series is Friday night.
The Detroit Tigers acquired right handed relief pitcher Joakim Soria from the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.  In the deal Detroit sent pitching prospects Corey Knebel and Jake Thompson to the Rangers.  Soria has pitched seven years in the majors and has 177 career saves and has struck out more hitters than he has pitched innings.  Soria has a club option on his current contract
Miguel Cabrera, Austin Jackson, and Alex Avila all drove in three runs each, as the Detroit Tigers crushed the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-5 on Wednesday afternoon.  Rajai Davis added three hits and an RBI for the Tigers, who open a four game series in Los Angeles on Thursday night against the Angels.
