They got a point, but lost in shootout again.  The Detroit Red Wings fell 2-1 to the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena.  Pavel Datsyuk scored a third period power play goal for the Wings, just their second goal in 11 periods.  The Wings are now (0-2-4) in their last six games and host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday in Detroit.
Despite 18 points and 20 rebounds from Andre Drummond, the Detroit Pistons lost in Brooklyn 110-105 to the Nets on Sunday.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 20 and Greg Monroe added 16 for the Pistons, who return home on Friday to face the Indiana Pacers.
The Detroit Lions came from behind and beat the Chicago Bears 20-14 in Chicago on Sunday to keep their division title hopes alive.  Reggie Bush and Joique Bell each rushed for a touchdown for the Lions, while Calvin Johnson went over 1,000 yards receiving after making six catches for 103 yards.  The Lions will play in Green Bay next Sunday, with the winner taking the NFC North

No. 25 Michigan State lost in overtime to Texas Southern 71-64 on Saturday.  It was just the second win of the season in ten games for Southern.  Matt Costello had 17 points for MSU, who had a three game win streak come to an end.  The Spartans (8-4) will host Citadel on Monday.  In other action, Michigan lost its fourth straight game, falling 62-51 to SMU in Ann Arbor.
It went down to the wire between cross town rivals on Friday night, as Port Huron High held off Port Huron Northern 59-57 at Northern in the Ed Peltz Memorial Holiday Tournament.  Jovon Thomason scored 20 for the Big Reds, while Bobby Wright chipped in with 10.  The Huskies were led by Geryd Welsh, who scored 26 points, and Aaron Martindale who added 13.  Welsh had a shoot to win
The New York Islanders beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Friday at Joe Louis Arena.  It was the fifth straight game without a win for Detroit.  Henrik Zetterberg had the Wings only goal.
The Detroit Pistons lost their 12th straight game at the Palace on Friday night, falling 110-100 to the Toronto Raptors.  Brandon Jennings had 22 points for the Pistons, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 18 and Greg Monroe 17.

The Detroit Pistons have now lost eleven straight home games, falling 117-106 to the Dallas Mavericks at the Palace on Wednesday night.  Chandler Parsons scored 32 for the Mavs, while Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 19 points and 24 rebounds.  The Pistons will take on the Toronto Raptors on Friday in Auburn Hills.
