Patrick Marleau scored twice in the third period to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 6-4 win over the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Thursday.  Tomas Jurco, Tomas Tatar, Stephen Weiss, and Henrik Zetterberg got credit for the Detroit goals.  The Red Wings host Tampa Bay on Saturday.
The Arizona Coyotes won for just the second time in 20 games, with a 5-4 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday night in overtime at Joe Louis Arena.  The Wings earn a point, but never led in the game, coming from behind four times to tie the score.  Luke Glendening, Justin Abdelkader, Jakub Kindl, and Gus Nyquist scored for Detroit.  The Wings are home to San Jose on Thursday.
The Detroit Pistons held off the Toronto Raptors 108-104 at the Palace on Tuesday night for their thrid straight win.  Reggie Jackson had 28 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 26, and Andre Drummond 21 for the Pistons.  Detroit is at Orlando on Friday.
The Detroit Pistons needed overtime, but won their second game in a row with a 105-97 victory in Boston.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 27, while Andre Drummond added 18 points and 22 rebounds.  The Pistons play Toronto at the Palace on Tuesday.
Justin Abdelkader scored in overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 win over the St Louis Blues on Sunday.  Erik Cole also scored for the Wings, who host Arizona on Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena.
Michigan State took out Virginia 60-54 on Sunday to advance the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.  Travis Trice had 23 points and Brandon Dawson added 15 for the Spartans.
The Detroit Pistons rallied from 19 points behind and beat the Chicago Bulls 107-91 at the Palace on Saturday night.  Reggie Jackson scored 22, Caron Butler 20, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 15, as six Pistons scored in double figures.  Detroit is at Boston on Sunday.
The lone Detroit goal was credited to TomasTatar, but the Tampa Bay Lightning put the puck into their own net on the play.  In the end it didn't matter, as the Wings fell in Tampa 3-1.  Detroit lost three of four on their road trip and return home Sunday to play St. Louis.
Michigan State took down Georgia 70-63 in its opening game of the NCAA Tournament.  Denzel Valentine had 16, including six clutch free throws in the final minute, while Travis Trice added 15, and Brandon Dawson and Bryn Forbes had 14 each.  The Spartans will play Virginia on Sunday.
The Detroit Red Wings clanged the pipe five times on Thursday night in frustrating 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.  Erik Cole had the Wings only goal as they head to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning on Friday night.
