The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Roach Road, west of Croswell Road in Lexington Township. The just after 11-p.m. accident happened along Roach Road in Lexington Township.

The Detroit Pistons hung close for three quarters, but eventually lost 89-79 in Denver on Wednesday night in their regular season opener.  Josh Smith scored 25 points to pace Detroit, while DJ Augustin added 15.  The Pistons play in Minnesota on Thursday night.

The Detroit Red Wings allowed three goals in the third period and lost 4-2 in Philadelphia despite out shooting the Flyers 37-17 on Saturday night.  It was the ninth straight loss at Philadelphia for Detroit, who last won a regular season game their in January of 1997.  Riley Sheahan and Pavel Datsyuk scored goals for the Wings.
No. 8 Michigan State (7-1) won its sixth game in a row on Saturday, beating rival Michigan 35-11 in East Lansing.  Jeremy Lanford rushed for 177 yards and scored 3 touchdowns for the Spartans, while Tony Lippett added 103 yards recieving and scored on a 70 yard pass play.  Michigan is (3-5) and will host Indiana next week, while State has a bye week, followed by the Ohio State

The Detroit Pistons closed out the pre-season with a (5-2) record after beating the Philadelphia 76ers at the Palace on Thursday night 109-103.  Kyle Singler scored 19 points, while Caron Butler added 18 and Josh Smith and Cartier Martin had 17 each for the Pistons.  Detroit will open the regular season next Wednesday at Denver.
The Imlay City boys soccer team advanced to the regional finals on Tuesday with a 2-0 win over Saginaw Swan Valley.  The Spartans will play Williamston on Saturday evening.  Two other area teams were eliminated on Tuesday, as Marysville lost 7-0 to Cranbrook, and Memphis fell 1-0 to Harbor Beach.
