Several interested individuals, Monday evening, at the St. Clair County Community College heard another side to the nuclear waste question at Bruce Power. The Detroit Pistons gave Oklahoma City a battle in their final game of the season, losing 112-111 to the Thunder.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a career high 30 points for the Pistons, who also got 22 points each from Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond, and 20 points from Kyle Singler.  The Pistons finish 29-53 and miss the playoffs for the 5th year in a row.
Yan Gomes hit a two run triple in the 2nd inning and the Cleveland Indians held off the Detroit Tigers 3-2 on Wednesday night.  Miguel Cabrera knocked in both Tigers runs, but Detroit left the game tying run standing at third in the bottom of the ninth.  Game two of the weather shortened series is Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park.
The San Diego Padres beat up on Max Scherzer and took down the Tigers 5-1 on Sunday.  Scherzer allowed four runs in five innings, but did strike out ten.  Victor Martinez drove in the only Tigers run.  Detroit is home on Tuesday to face Cleveland.
The Detroit Pistons lost their final home game of the season 116-107 to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.  Greg Monre scored 20 of his 23 points in the second half for the Pistons, who will miss the playoffs, and close out the season on Wednesday at Oklahoma City.
The Port Huron Patriots were held to one first down and -13 yards in the first half and trailed at the break 61-0, on their way to a 114-0 loss at Erie on Sunday.  Port Huron has now lost seven games in a row after opening the season with their only win.
Petr Mrazek earned his second shutout of the season as the Detroit Red Wings beat the St. Louis Blues 3-0 on Sunday.  Justin Abdelkader scored two goals and Pavel Datsyuk had two assists.  Riley Sheahan also had a goal, the Wings will play Boston in the first round of the playoffs.
After getting one hit on Friday in San Diego, the Detroit Tigers bounced back with a 6-2 win over the Padres on Saturday night.  Justin Verlander picked up the win and added his first two career hits.  Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson each drove in two runs for the Tigers.  The final game of a three game series in Sunday in California.
Max Milosek stopped three break-aways in the third period, including one at the buzzer on Jordan Watt, to lift the Port Huron Fighting Falcons to a 4-3 win in Johnstown on Friday night.  The victory gave the Falcons a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five series.  Bryan Yim had a goal and two assist and scored the series winning goal on a second period power play.  Jon Hall, Noah Batis,
Joe Nathan blew a three run lead in the bottom of the ninth, but Victor Martinez led off the tenth with a home run and the Detroit Tigers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 on Wednesday to earn a split in their two game series.  Nick Castellas had a three run home for Detroit, who plays in San Diego on Friday.
A goal credited to Riley Sheahan with 1:15 left in the third period, put the Detroit Red Wings into the playoffs for the 23rd season in a row.  The goal tied the game with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who eventually beat the Wings 4-3 in shootout, but the one point earned by Detroit was enough to clinch a post season berth in the East with two games left in the season.  Detroit is home to
