Two motorists were sent to an area hospital after a two vehicle Wednesday in Worth Township. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle driving south on Wildcat Road lost control on the snow covered road, striking a northbound pickup truck. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

 
Tyler Bozak scored two of Toronto's three goals in the third period, as the Maple Leafs beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Saturday night.  Tomas Tatar had the lone goal for Detroit, who returns home on Monday to face Ottawa.
The Port Huron Northern hockey team lost its second straight game to open the season, falling 8-1 to Cranbrook on Saturday at McMorran Arena.  Bredan Shagena scored for the Huskies and Andrew Adolph made 30 saves.  Cj Regula had a hat trick for Cranbrook.
Maryland scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to knock off Michigan 23-16 on Saturday in Ann Arbor.  CJ Brown rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown, while passing for 165 yards for Maryland.  Michigan got 82 yards and a touchdown from Devin Gardner, but he was held to just 106 yard passing.  Michigan was win at Ohio State next week to become Bowl eligible.
Michigan State destroyed Rutgers 45-3 on Saturday in college football action in East Lansing.  Jeremy Langford rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns, going over 100 yards for the 14th straight time in conference play.  Connor Cook added 254 yard passing and two touchdowns.  MSU will finish the regular season at Penn State next Saturday.
The Detroit Pistons losing streak has reached four games after a 99-89 loss in Atlanta on Friday night.  Josh Smith led the Pistons with 16 points, while DJ Augustin added 14.  The Pistons play in Milwaukee on Tuesday.
No. 24 Michigan State pounded visiting Loyola-Chicago 87-52 on Friday night in East Lansing.  Five players scored in double figures led by Brandon Dawson and Marvin Clark, who had 15 each.  Matt Costello and Travis Trice added 13 each, and Denzel Valentine had 12.  The Spartans host Santa Clara on Monday.
The Detroit Red Wings came back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits on Thursday night, to beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in Manitoba.  Tomas Tatar had two goals, including the game winner, while Justin Abdelkader picked up a goal and an assist.  Johan Franzen also scored for the Wings, who wrap up a three game road trip on Saturday night with a game in Toronto.
No. 24 Michigan avoided a scare from Detroit on Thursday night with a 71-62 win.  Michigan trailed at the half 28-27 and the game was tied at 52-52 with 5:33 to play, but the Wolverines went on a 16-1 run to pull away and seal their third straight victory.  Caris LeVert had 21 points, while Zak Irvin scored 18 and Derrick Walton 16 for Michigan.  The Titans were led by Juwon Howard
A late rally by the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night fell a little short in an 88-86 loss to the Phoenix Suns.  Brandon Jennings scored 19 points and Greg Monroe added 18 for the Pistons, who have lost three in a row.  Detroit plays at Atlanta on Friday.
Tomas Tatar and Tomas Jurco each had a goal and an assist on Tuesday night, as the Detroit Red Wings ripped the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0 in Ohio.  Jimmy Howard made 28 saves for the shutout, while Darren Helm, Gustav Nyquist, and Riley Sheahan each added a goal.  Brendan Smith had two assists.  The Wings play in Winnipeg on Thursday.
