Whiteouts reported at St. Clair County Airport
Lake effect snow from Lake Michigan made its way to St. Clair County this morning with a stream of snow showers that cut across the county.  The National Weather Service issued a "Winter Weather Advisory" until 7PM Thursday evening. 
The drawbridge on Military Street over the Black River is open to traffic again after a mechanical issue closed the bridge Thursday afternoon, according to the Port Huron Police Department.
Two motorists were sent to an area hospital after a two vehicle Wednesday in Worth Township. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle driving south on Wildcat Road lost control on the snow covered road, striking a northbound pickup truck. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

A late rally by the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night fell a little short in an 88-86 loss to the Phoenix Suns.  Brandon Jennings scored 19 points and Greg Monroe added 18 for the Pistons, who have lost three in a row.  Detroit plays at Atlanta on Friday.
Tomas Tatar and Tomas Jurco each had a goal and an assist on Tuesday night, as the Detroit Red Wings ripped the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0 in Ohio.  Jimmy Howard made 28 saves for the shutout, while Darren Helm, Gustav Nyquist, and Riley Sheahan each added a goal.  Brendan Smith had two assists.  The Wings play in Winnipeg on Thursday.
No. 4 Duke defeated No. 19 Michigan State 81-71 in the Champions Classic on Tuesday night.  The Spartans are (1-1) on the season, while Duke improved to (3-0).  Branden Dawson had 18 points, Travis Trice 15, and Denzel Valentine added 13 for State.
Zak Irvin scored 24 points and Michigan ripped Bucknell 77-53 on Monday night in Ann Arbor.  Max Bielfeldt had a career best 18 points and Derrick Walton chipped in with 15 for the Wolverines.
The Detroit Pistons got out scored 29-17 in the 4th quarter on Monday night and lost 107-93 to the Orlando Magic at the Palace.  Caron Butler led Detroit with 20 points, while Brandon Jennings added 18.
Riley Sheahan had a goal, but the Detroit Red Wings lost at home 4-1 on Sunday night to the first place Montreal Canadiens.  PK Subban scored the winning goal on a shot that bounced in off a Wings player.  Detroit plays at Columbus on Tuesday.
The Arizona Cardinals scored two early touchdowns on Sunday and then held off the Detroit Lions 14-6.  The loss ends a four game win streak for Detroit.  Matt Prater kicked two field goals for the Lions, who play at New England next week.
The Detroit Pistons let another close game get away in the final quarter and lost in Memphis on Saturday 95-88 to the Grizzlies.  Kyle Singler scored 21 points for the Pistons, who host Orlando on Monday night.
Michigan State bounced back from last weeks loss to Ohio State, by beating Maryland 37-15 on Saturday night in Big Ten football action.  Jeremy Langford had his 13th straigh league game with 100 yards rushing, going for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the win.  The Spartans out rushed Maryland 242-6 in the game.  MSU is home to Rutgers next week.
The season ended for three area teams on Saturday, as Richmond lost 35-7 at Lansing Sexton in a high school football regional final, and both Peck and Deckerville fell in the 8-man semi-finals.  Deckerville lost 36-20 to Cedarville, while the defending champs from Peck lost at home 66-40 to Lawrence.  Lawrence QB Derek Gribler threw six touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores
