It appears downtown Port Huron is to be revisited by the MainStreet concept again. The organization was the backbone of promotions and business attraction a few years ago and several business men and women are now gearing up to get the formula back in the spotlight. It is a program that includes historic preservation  that has proved successful in other cities. City Manager Bruce Brown says a dedicated group of individuals have already met a couple times on the subject. He would like to see the current downtown organization, currently part of the Municipal Office Center, return to the downtown streets with its' own office, budget, and merchant driven agenda. More meetings on the subject are planned in the near future.
