The local area including much of the Midwest set for another cold snap as mother nature opens the freezer again. Temperatures today are expected to fall to near 14 by 5pm and then as low as 2 for tonight. Wind chills will be in the –16 degree range. Forecasters say there will be little improvement over the next couple of days with high temperatures in the mid-teens. A handful of schools were closed in Sanilac County this morning due in part to drifted shut secondary roads. The day began with freezing rain.
