Always wondered how milk goes from cow to glass?  How food gets from a farmer's garden to your table?  Or what about the buzz on bees and how honey is made?  All of the answers can be found at the Port Huron Museum's latest exhibit, Farm Life which gives visitors the inside track on the life of a farm family, their homestead and how they lived and worked in their community.  Focusing on the agricultural community, Farm Life demonstrates how a century of change has impacted generations of American farm families. The exhibit features a wide variety of interactive displays including Calvin the Cow where children are able to play with Calvin, feed and pet him while learning the milking process.  Areas also highlighted are life on a farm, working the land and discovering the neighborhood and community in which farming families lived.  Besides photographs and text panels the exhibit also features locals artifacts from the time period such as a cider press, school desk, sewing machine and stove among other herilooms.  Farm Life public programs including  "How does My Pizza Grow?", "The Buzz on Bees" and "Milk a Cow" add to fun and learning that this exhibit brings.  Farm Life and its corresponding family-friendly programming runs through August 11th.  For more information, go online to phmuseum.org or call 982-0891.  Farm Life comes to Port Huron from Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley Museum and is financed by a grant from the National Endownment of the Humanities.
