With the new Freighters restaurant and the Baker College culinary school developments along the St. Clair River shoreline, plus the Hilton Double Tree hotel and the coming-soon Blue Water Area Convention Center, there's some trees in the way that have to be removed. Weather permitting, starting today the city of Port Huron will be removing some of the street boulevard trees along Stone Street at Harker Street. Tim Hickey is the city's Forestry Supervisor and says the work will be done today, tomorrow, and Friday between the hours of 8am and 3pm each day. The public is encouraged to use the alternative routes during the duration of the work. Changes in curbside parking in the area also being instituted.
