Sunday evening saw the first installment of the Salvation Army Brass Band Summer Concert Series in Pine Grove Park. Blue Water Area residents gathered to take in the sounds of trumpets, trombones and tubas from the Army's youth and Citadel senior bands. Brass band fans heard the ensemble perform well-known pieces of music such as the Star Spangled Banner; America the Beautiful; Oh, Canada and various religious numbers. Salvation Army officials led the musicians and attendees in prayer and scripture readings throughout the concert. The Salvation Army performs in Pine Grove Park each Sunday in July at 6pm.
