Newly elected state representative Dan Lauwers was sworn into office Friday morning in a ceremony held in front of St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Dan Kelly.  The 81st District State House member will take over the seat held by Jud Gilbert.  Friday a ceremony he said held for family and friends while a formal group state swearing in ceremony set for January 9th in Lansing.  Meanwhile local county officials get an official swearing in ceremony the 3rd of January. That's when County Commissioners and other others will be their new terms.
