It wasn't pretty but No. 7 Michigan State picked up a 71-69 overtime win at No. 15 Iowa on Tuesday night. Keith Appling scored 16 and Matt Costello added 11 with a career high 11 rebounds. Iowa went almost 15 minutes without a field goal to finish the game. The Hawkeyes were held without a make the last ten minutes of regulation and didn't score a hoop in OT until six seconds remained. Iowa free throw shooting kept them in the game, but in the end the Spartans ended the Hawkeyes home winning streak at 20 games. Michigan State will face Georgetown on Saturday in a non-conference game in New York.
