A British teenager who'd just gotten a job as a fast food chicken mascot got her feathers ruffled by a stranger who tried to choke her. The 17-year-old, who was handing out flyers for Pepe's Piri-Piri Chicken in Northampton, England, was approached by a teenaged boy, who reached up to choke her and give her a poke in the beak. She was shaken up, but not hurt too badly, since the head of the costume protected her. The restaurant's owner says he warned the girl to be aware of her environment and watch her back, adding, "She really wanted to be the chicken and was very enthusiastic. It's dreadful."

A Florida woman did her best to make things a nightmare for a neighborhood creep - by firing shots in his direction as he flashed her while wearing a "Jason" mask from the Friday the 13th series. Bobby Harris was peering into Betsy Cornele's window while exposing himself, which made her jump into action – and grab her handgun. She told cops, "I don't know what his intentions were to get in, but there's no telling. We'll take matters into our own hands if we have to to protect our kids." Cops caught up with Harris a short time later and took him into custody.
