Stupid News for 6/3/14

A Tennessee man was allegedly so scared of facing his mother that he asked to be arrested. Michael Heck was charged with making a false report after he allegedly called police to his home in Knoxville and mentioned methamphetamine. Heck told police he wanted to be arrested for manufacturing meth because his mother was going to be mad at him. The suspect's request was granted and he was taken to jail. When deputies and officers searched the home, no meth, manufacturing materials or other drugs were found.

A man has been charged with second-degree robbery after he allegedly robbed a woman at a Washington ferry terminal and then asked to be her friend on Facebook the following day. Riley Mullins is accused to hitting a woman in the back of the head and then taking off with her purse and iPod. She didn't get a good look at her attacker, but did see that he had a neck tattoo of a triangle. The next day, she received a friend request from Mullins and recognized him as the man who allegedly robbed her. When she saw the picture she immediately recognized him as the person who assaulted her and robbed her. Police were able to confirm that the account belonged to Mullins and he was arrested.

Andrew Joffe called police late sunday night to report that wild boars were chasing him, and he was found walking several miles west of the freeway. Police discovered that Joffe had an open warrant for driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license and he was brought into custody. When deputies searched Joffe's backpack, they found a stolen GPS device that he admitted to stealing from a vehicle. Police also found other electronics, cellphones and earrings. A police rep said, "We have had people with warrants call us to turn themselves in before, but it's unusual for someone with an active warrant, who just burglarized a car, to get lost and call us for help. In his defense, it does get pretty dark out on Deen Still Road in the middle of the night."
