Mainteance costs cited as the reason for another increase in toll rates for the Blue Water Bridge for U.S. bound traffic. The rate changes take effect the first of the year according to the Blue Water Bridge Canada. BWBC is the Crown corporation that operates the Canadian side of the bridge. A similar announcement on eastbound tolls usually follows at a later date by U.S. officials. The new rates reflect a 25-cent increase in tolls per vehicle to $3.50. Axle rates for trucks see similar increases while tokens go up by $5 per roll which would make each crossing cost $2.50 if tokens are used. They are sold in rolls of twenty. The current toke rate is $2.25.
