Alberto Callaspo hit a two out pitch hit single in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the game winning run as the Los Angeles Angeles edged the Detroit Tigers on Friday night 3-2.  The Angeles scored two in the first on Max Scherzer, who then threw seven shutout innings with nine strike outs.  Octavio Dotel was able to get two out in the ninth, but gave up three hits along the way to take the loss.  Detroit's runs scored on home runs from Prince Fielder and Alex Avila.  Game two of a ten game road trip is Saturday night in Los Angeles.
