Port Huron Fighting Falcons defenseman Nolan Valleau was taken in the third round of the United States Hockey League draft by Des Moines.  Valleau was the 33rd player taken overall.  Several players from the NAHL were selected in the rival league's draft, with Valleau the only Port Huron player taken.  While his NAHL rights remain with the Falcons, Valleau has the option to try to make Des Moines team next season and play in the USHL, which is generally considered the higher profile league.
