Justin Verlander struggled through six innings on Tuesday night in Boston, allowing five runs on ten hits, in a 6-3 loss for the Tigers to the Red Sox.  Verlander suffers his second straight loss and so do the Tigers, who slip three games under 500.  Prince Fielder had a home run and a single and drove in two runs, while Jhonny Peralta also hit a home run.  The Tigers and Red Sox play again on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
