Crockett Marine Racing powerboat, a 26 ft. Joker, docked along the banks of Black River near Desmond Landing

WATERFRONT ACTION

The International Offshore Powerboat Race this past weekend saw the banks of the St. Clair River filled with race fans and citizens of all ages coming to see the action on the water. Waves of roaring engines and exhaust filled the air along the waterfront, as more than fifty offshore powerboats showed up to participate in the event. Hospitality tents and food and beverage vendors lined the grounds of Desmond Landing and the dry pit area behind the Zebra Bar throughout the weekend. Other features included live music performances, a vintage bathing suit competition, and live entertainment at the Sarnia Bay Marina as well.

Last year's race champion, Tyler Crockett and crew member George Eisenhardt, awaiting this year's race, Sunday afternoon.
